iCSEng International Conference on Systems Engineering

Foreword

Dear authors and participants

Welcome to the 31st International Conference on Systems Engineering (ICSEng), a cornerstone event that, in 2024, proudly marks its 50th anniversary. This special edition of the conference is hosted in Warsaw, Poland, by NASK – National Research Institute and the Military University of Technology (MUT), continuing a tradition of excellence and innovation in the field of systems engineering.

Since its inception in 1974 in Wrocław, Poland, ICSEng has been a forum for international collaboration, academic exchange, and the advancement of systems engineering. Founded by visionaries Professor Zdzisław Bubnicki, William Wells, and Glyn James, the conference has grown to be a global platform, co-organized on a rotational basis among leading institutions including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Toyo University, Tokyo, and now NASK and MUT in Warsaw, reflecting our commitment to fostering global connections and perspectives.

This year, as we commemorate half a century of ICSEng, we continue to offer a rich program that spans the breadth of systems engineering. Our topics range from Machine Learning and AI to Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing, embodying the interdisciplinary nature and dynamic evolution of the field. This milestone event is not only a reflection on our past achievements but also a forward-looking gathering that aims to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the future.

The significance of ICSEng is further underscored by its indexing in prestigious databases such as the Web of Science, Scopus, and Core, ensuring that the contributions of our participants are recognized and accessible to the global academic and professional community. This recognition is a testament to the quality of research and discussions that define our conference.

We invite researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to contribute and engage with ICSEng’s diverse program. Your research presentations, discussions, and networking efforts are pivotal to the conference’s success and its future impact on systems engineering.

Thank you for being an integral part of ICSEng’s legacy. Together, let’s advance the field of systems engineering, tackling today’s challenges with innovative solutions.

Sincerely,

Prof. Grzegorz Borowik
Prof. Tadeusz Nowicki
Prof. Henry Selvaraj
